September Recap: Community Dinner, Mason-TED Talks and Harvest Home Day
September was a busy month for Ancient Baltimore Lodge No. 234, from serving our Hampden neighbors to representing the lodge at Harvest Home Day. Here is a look back, with thanks to everyone who took part.
Spaghetti night with Good Shepherd. Through our continuing partnership with our Good Shepherd United Methodist Church family, the lodge helped serve the September 12 spaghetti community dinner, which fed more than 70 of our Hampden neighbors.

Mason-TED talks. Our "five minutes or less" Mason-TED talks continue, both in lodge and when we visit other lodges. Brother Calvin Harris presented "A House Not Made with Hands," on how the three degrees of Masonry relate to human birth and the stages of growth. At the Maryland Masonic Lodge of Research No. 239, Brother Adam Atencio presented "The Roman Architect and Engineer, Vitruvius and the Ancient Orders of Architecture," on how the decorative designs of historic buildings connect to Masonic history.

Harvest Home Day. Our table, set up by Brothers Adam Atencio and Justin Evans, drew a steady stream of visitors and sold Ancient Baltimore cufflinks, lodge coins and raffle tickets. The bourbon raffle that began in late August wrapped up at Harvest Home Day and raised more than $3,000 for the Ancient Baltimore Foundation.
It was also our first year in the cornhole competition. Our team, Justin^2 Squared, made up of Brothers Justin Webster and Justin Evans, came within one point of the title after a late rally by the defending champion lodge. We will be back next year to bring the trophy home.

Thank you to everyone who sold and bought raffle tickets, to the Justin^2 Squared team for assembling the bourbon baskets, to Brother Chris Podowski for designing the raffle flyer, and to Brother Adam Atencio for leading the way in ticket sales.
Coming up next: the Good Shepherd Thanksgiving Community Dinner on November 21. See our Events page for details and the full schedule.
